I never quite understand why so many people make so much fuss over helping out someone in some way. I’m not talking about epic charity drives or huge philanthropic donations, just the small things, the random acts of kindness that make a difference, no matter how small or inconsequential.
I’ve never understood what the big deal is about helping someone else if you can…it’s always been a given to me and never a big deal.
Stopping and asking someone if they need a lift when it’s raining. Paying for coffee or buying someone lunch even though it’s not your shout. Picking friends up even when it’s out of your way or the airport pickup at 3am.
The reality of helping because you can is that the act of kindness itself usually involves the giving up small bits your time, time that many of us think we can’t spare.
It isn’t how much time we have but how we chose to use it. Giving someone a bit of our time costs us nothing but can really make a difference.
Compounding acts of kindness, no matter how small, make a huge difference to everyone, everywhere.
Earn your sunrise,
Lee.
